I got the idea for RA.One six years ago
while watching TV and I wasn’t able to
sleep till I wrote the script. I just knew
it was going to be really special and
unique. I also knew it wasa dream that
would take a long time to materialise.
And from the moment I thought of the
film, I knew there was only one guy
who could produce it and that was
Shah Rukh Khan. He agreed to do the
film. We also both believed that
anything as special as this would
takemore money than usual.
A project like RA.One requires a lotof
patience and mental stability. But, at
times, there was a sense of insecurity
that other directors who are my friends
had not only finished one, but two to
three films and I was still completing
mine. RA.One has been in the making
for four years, including pre-
production, shooting, post-production
etc. But there was so much work to be
done that it felt like only two years.
I have definitely aged while doing this
film but in a good way. Had I enrolled
with an animation and special effects
class to learn these techniques, it
would have taken five years to
completely understand the nitty-gritty
of every aspect. But while working on
the film, it took me only three years to
do so.
Today, I am technologically much more
advanced then I was years ago, and if I
were to make another film with
special effects, it would not be all that
difficult. This film has helped me
matureas a person and my hair has
turned grey.
But the film has also taught me to
bepatient and calm. There were
18,000 departments we were working
on, day in and day out. You had to deal
with them, read what they were
saying.
Yet, never once the thought of giving
up onthe project or starting something
else alongside it, like a small film, cross
my mind. It was impossible to think
that a project with SRK could remain
incomplete. I simply couldn’t think of
writing anything else. People now
assume that since the film is
approaching its release most of the
work is done but I know how much is
still left!In fact, I have forgotten what a
vacationmeans! Not my son, though.
When we were shooting in London, he
came over to spend time with me. He
knew his dad was working on a film
that would be releasing in 2011.
This was a dream I wanted to fulfill, so
I know I took the right decision to g
owith the film and stay with it. It is not
appropriate to compare any film with
Mughal-E-Azam, just because of the
length of time the film took to be
made. Similarly, no one can be
compared with Amitabh Bachchan.
There were rumours that there were
three directors on RA.One as it was
taking a long time. But that is not true.
Karan Johar did shoot for the film for
aday and a half, which would amount
to aminute on screen. On that day, we
had two units and I was supposed to
shuffle.
But, luckily, we had the luxury of
having Karan Johar there. So I asked
him if he would do it. If he wasn’t
there, I would have had to juggle
between the two units or else Shah
Rukh would have had to direct and act
as well. But that doesn’t take anything
away from me. People who spread
such nasty rumours don’t understand
the magnitude of the film.
Ra.One is a mammoth project – the
biggest film coming out of India.
Fromthe time I conceived the film to
the present, there are two things that
cometo mind. One is a feeling of
emptiness– when the film was being
made, there were so many things to
get done to put the film together…
shoot it, get the detailing right etc etc.
The second thingis now that I realise
how big the film is, I know just how
fortunate I am to be making a film like
this.

Aamir Khan wants a Hollywood babe for Dhoom?
If things are on course, Aamir Khan could be
romancing a Hollywood heroine in Dhoom
3, the much-hyped third installment in the
Dhoom series scheduled to release in 2012.
Reports coming in suggest producers Yash
Raj Films (YRF) plan to approach Eva
Longoria or Natalie Portman for the role,
after first-choice heroine Katrina Kaif
expressed reluctance to take up the offer
because the film would require her to wear
a bikini in a couple of scenes.
Latina superstar Penelope Cruz's name has
also been doing the rounds for the role. The
buzz over who will play Aamir's heroine in
Dhoom 3 has been gaining ground ever
since the actor confirmed being part of the
film sometime ago.
Initially, YRF had issued an official statement
saying they were looking for a fresh face
opposite Aamir. They planned to hold
auditions in cities across India for the right
girl. Then, news cropped up that the role
was offered to Katrina.
The Dhoom films have always banked on its
antihero, with John Abraham and Hrithik
Roshan essaying the leading man with grey
shades over the past two films. In sync, the
heroine of the antihero has been of more
importance than the traditional heroine of
the film.
The bikini, the reason why Katrina
reportedly turned down the offer, has
incidentally been a driving force in deciding
the oomph factor in these films. Esha Deol,
cast opposite John in Dhoom, and
Aishwarya Rai, co-star of Hrithik in Dhoom
2, notably flaunted their figure in sexy
beachwear.
The previous two Dhoom flicks were
superhits and YRF wants to raise the bar
this time. Aamir's heroine will not only have
to be a glamourous figure, she will have to
outdo Esha and Ash with her stunts and sex
appeal. After a point, they had doubts if a
newcomer would be able to handle the
character or not.
So, they decided to go for a Penelope Cruz
could also be approached Aamir, along with
Dhoom 3 director Vijay Krishna Acharya and
YRF head honcho Aditya Chopra, naturally
wants to create an explosion with the
casting. "Aamir in particular feels if they
can't find the right girl in Bollywood, it is a
good idea to look westwards," the source
said.
Dhoom 3 brings back Abhishek Bachchan as
the no-nonsense cop and Uday Chopra as
his funny sidekick in a new adventure
involving a new villain, played by Aamir.
Reports have suggested Aamir will play a
super thief who is also an expert gymnast
and uses acrobatics to get away after
daredevil heists. The perfectionist Aamir has
reportedly asked for time to prepare a
gymnast's body for the role.

The 34 -year-old British singer-composer-songwriter, who partied with Shah Rukh Khan while on a visit to India recently, is enamoured by the man and the industry. “ I attended the Ra.One ( SRK’s film) party and what struck me about SRK was the way he is around people, whether they’re famous or not famous. "had a shoot for ajay (Arora) my friends awesome company d'decor. raining like mad in mumbai...want to dance in the rain...wish the kids were awake," Shah Rukh tweeted after winding up from the shoot late at night. Shah Rukh back in perfect shape now having regained some weight; he had started looking gawky earlier while filming RA.One in London. The 45 -year-old star was his usual amicable self as he arrived, and cheerily posed for photogs. Back in August 2010 , Shah Rukh and his wife Gauri Khan were announced brand ambassadors for Mumbai based D'Decor, the world's third-largest producers of curtain and upholstery fabrics. "There is nothing that makes me more happy than making films," he says. On July 26 , after wrapping his most ambitious project, RA.One, Shah Rukh struck a philosophical note on Twitter. "ra.one shoot finally over. we start films so that we complete them fast...but when they finish there is a sense of emptiness as if a difficult but passionate relationship has come to an end." he tweeted around midnight. "film making is like love....like falling from a building...but not feeling the impact or the hurt till you reach the end. here's to new beginnings...cos endings are just beginnings backwards." Two-much-too-soon for Shahrukh? Joginder Tuteja , IndiaGlitz
Buzz is building up for Shahrukh Khan this year. First he has 'Ra. One' arriving on Diwali and then he would be wrapping up 2011 with 'Don 2' hitting the screens on Christmas. Though typically Shahrukh starrers are spaced by at least a year, this is not really turning out to be the case this time around. "When Shahrukh originally started work on 'Ra. One' and 'Don 2', the original idea was to keep the two films distanced by a good enough duration. 'My Name Is Khan' had arrived early last year and even if 'Ra. One' would have released this summer, one wouldn't have minded 'Don 2' to arrive this Christmas as this would have led to six months gap", says an industry insider. However with 'Ra. One' seeing an extended schedule and the film still being shot, there was no other choice for Shahrukh but to grab Diwali slot. Meanwhile with Farhan Akhtar and Co. already closing on the festive occasion of Christmas. "The fact is that his fans have indeed been spoilt with an offer of ' two-much-too-soon'", quips a prominent filmmaker. Now whether Shahrukh's strategy of bringing two of his films so close to each other goes in his favour or not would be known in a few weeks from now once comparisons between 'Ra. One' and 'Don 2' further catch on more heat.
Shahrukh Khan thanks Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt with expensive gifts Shahrukh Khan thanks Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt as they shoot their cameos for Ra.One
King Khan, Shahrukh Khan , is the big hearted man of Bollywood. Leaving aside his spat with Salman Khan , Shahrukh is well known for his friendly relationships with his co-stars. Shahrukh roped in Priyanka Chopra and Sanjay Dutt for cameos in his much anticipated superhero flick Ra.One . Buzz was that Priyanka and Sanjay had a packed schedule as they were shooting for Agneepath ; but Karan Johar , the producer of Agneepath , gave a couple of dates of PC and Sanju to Shahrukh Khan without much ado. No wonder Karan takes Shahrukh as his elder brother. According to reports, Ra.One ’s director Anubhav Sinha and Shahrukh Khan were really impressed after watching Sanjay Dutt’s brawny look which he has built for Agneepath . Both of them felt that it would be great for Ra.One if they could rope in Sanjay. SRK approached Sanjay and he readily agreed, and has finished shooting his cameo along with Piggy Chops (thanks to the date issues being handled by Karan Johar). But, Shahrukh Khan, being the gentleman he is, thanked Sanjay and Priyanka on a social networking website after the shoot got over. SRK wrote: “3 days of hectic shoot...last 4 days to go. My heartfelt thanx to sanjay dutt and priyanka chopra for being so wonderful on the sets.bless u.” Not only this, Shahukh has gifted Sanjay Dutt a racing motorcycle costing more than Rs 15 lakhs! He has even gifted Priyanka Chopra an expensive acoustic guitar on her birthday! Wow! After reading all this I can just wish that I was Shahrukh Khan’s friend!

No comments on RA.One: Aamir Khan
Whoever mentioned that Bollywood babes can never be close friends are correct. Once considered to be good buddies, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerjee, who had worked in ‘ Mujhse Dosti Karoge ’ have been avoiding each other for quite sometime now for reasons not specified. However, both the actresses will be seen working together in Reema Kagti’s Aamir Khan starrer yet to be titled movie. The script have it that Rani and Kareena`s characters never cross ways. So, there is no need for them to shoot any sequence with each other. The sources added that they are much concerned about their career and respect each other. In fact, Kareena has been telling people on the sets how much she likes Rani as an individual and actress. Bebo has numerous words to utter for her competitors, so this time she’s not acting. Bollywood star Aamir Khan kept his mouth shut with respect to Shah Rukh’s forthcoming home production “ Ra One”. Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan have always been opponents even though sharing a friendly relationship. When asked to comment on Shahrukh’s “ Ra One ”, Aamir Khan said that he has not seen the promos of the movie yet and so he cannot comment on the project right away. When asked if Mr perfectionist has any strategy of enacting the character of a superhero in the coming time he mentioned that he take pleasure in playing the role of a hero in his movies and talking about superhero is no where in the wishlist. Aamir Khan is also supporting Darsheel Safary for his upcoming film Zokkomon where he will play the role of a superhero. It was Aamir Khan who had launched Darsheel in Taare Zameen Par. Aamir Khan is delighted to know that Walt Disney has come up with a children flick as working on children films is seldom seen. The multi-talented star expressed his best wishes to the entire cast and crew of Zokkomon. It was a dream cum true chance for Darsheel to play the role of a superhero in a film. His joy knew no limits. Hope the film creates magic at the box-office too. Aamir Khan will soon be seen in Delhi Belly . Read Aamir Khan horoscope .

The trio together!
Salman Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan While media has been constantly reporting that Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is taking on his rival Shahrukh Khan by throwing a cricket party at his residence at the same time when SRK will have the party at Mannat. Actually, Aamir Khan has cancelled the shooting of Reema Kagti ‘s untitled film and is going to Mohali to see India-Pakistan cricket match live Shahrukh Khan has also cancelled all his appointments to watch the match with his close buddies around. The guest in Shahrukh Khan’s list includes Hrithik Roshan , Karan Johar , Arjun Rampal , Sanjay and wife Maheep Kapoor, Chunky Pandey and Bhavna Pandey respectively. While, Bollywood’s three Khans who have created waves in the industry for various reasons were to star in a Bollywood project together. Well, that might be a long dream of their fans, but for now, the three Bollywood actors have gave their nod to work for Aditya Chopra . Aditya Chopra has managed to get Salman Khan , Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan to act in his movies this year. While Aamir Khan will be doing a negative role for Dhoom 3 , Shahrukh Khan has agreed to do an untitled Yash Raj movie. On the other hand, the Dabangg actor, Salman Khan, has also promised Aditya Chopra that he will surely work on one project of his. While Salman Khan and Mr. Perfectionist were seen together in the romantic comedy, Andaz Apna Apna, SRK and Salman Khan played brothers in Karan Arjun . Their current relationships, however, are stressed. Aditya Chopra, who started his film career by assisting Yash Chopra in Yash Raj Films’ like Chandni, Lamhe and Darr, gradually went on to direct films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi . Looking at his choice of male leads, it is obvious that Shahrukh Khan is his favourite actor. But when it comes to producing films, Aditya Chopra produced as many as 36 Bollywood movies and TV Series, and has also worked with almost all the leading Bollywood biggies like Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, Kajol , Aishwarya Rai , Abhishek Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit , Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerjee, Preity Zinta , Ranbir Kapoor , Katrina Kaif and many others.

Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan & Salman Khan: Bad, Worse, Worst
Who is the biggest of them all – Aamir Khan , Shah Rukh Khan or Salman Khan ? Albeit in repeat-run, their films were released in direct opposition of each other’s last week when the Inox chain of multiplexes decided to screen Aamir’s 3 Idiots and Ghajini , Shah Rukh’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Salman’s Dabangg in its properties. Sample the collections in the Inox properties of Jaipur and arrive at your own conclusion about which of the three Khans sells the most: Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi ran for 7 shows at Inox Pink Square and collected Rs. 6 ,300 whereas 3 Idiots managed Rs. 6 ,500 in 6 shows and Ghajini, Rs. 1 ,400 in 5 shows. Dabangg could collect only Rs. 800 in 2 shows at the same cinema. At Inox Space, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi completed just one show, collecting Rs. 560. 3 Idiots fared no better in terms of number of shows and it could collect just Rs. 400 whereas Ghajini netted Rs. 320 in one show and Dabangg didn’t score any better in terms of number of shows but it at least collected Rs. 1 ,200. At Inox Vaibhav, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi collected Rs. 3 ,600 in 5 shows while Ghajini managed Rs. 1 ,200 in 2 shows. Just as the saying goes, Hamaam mein sab nange hain , one can safely conclude that repeat-run mein bhi sab stars…. For, the position of these films was no different in the Inox properties in the rest of India. Want gossip and reviews sent to you? It's free! Email ID
Aamir to play ghost in next?
Everyone knows that Aamir Khan is playing a cop in Reema Kagti's suspense thriller, but is he playing a ghost too? If reports are to be believed Aamir Khan's character will die in the first half only to resurface in the second as a bhoot , reports Mid Day . Before Aamir, Salma n Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have also portrayed ghosts in Hello Brother Paheli respectively. Apart from this film, Aamir Khan is all set to portray a negative character in Dhoom 3 . In Reema Kagti's next, Aamir Khan would also be portraying a moustache. We now wonder if that will accentuate the ghost effect?

Golden Kela Awards, Aamir’s favourite
Aamir Khan In Bollywood no one really cares for Golden Kela Awards which honours the worst performances, but our odd man out Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is in love with Kela Awards. The actor recently mentioned that he have a high regard for the Golden Kela Awards because other awards are debris and sold.. It was indeed a honest comment from the actor who is known for his condescension for popular awards, so much so that he boycotts all the same. Aamir Khan’s comment is also being construed as a restrained taunt at Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, who won the Golden Kela Worst Actor Award this year for his dull performance in My Name Is Khan . To make things more crystal clear, Mr. perfectionist even mocked at the decision of giving SRK the best actor award at a popular function some time ago. Aamir stated that like someone recently gave the Best Actor award to Shah Rukh Khan, instead Salman Khan should have won it for Dabangg or it would have been Ajay Devgn for Once Upon A Time In Mumbai . Taking potshots at Shahrukh Khan is not new for Aamir. In fact, the two assert to be friends who raise the roof in good natured chitchat even though the jousting between them has at times hooked to the down market level. Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One has beaten Aamir Khan’s film ‘ 3 Idiots ’ record of the highest price for satellite rights. Ra.One’s satellite rights have been bought for a monstrous amount of Rs 40 crore. The rights for 3 Idiots were sold for Rs 36 crore as reported. SRK’s Ra.One has numerous international celebrities; the special effects are being done by Hollywood artists, so this movie sure needs to recover its costs. And this is just the beginning, knowing Shahrukh, Aamir Khan will leave no stone unturned in promoting his movies with style!! Follow Aamir Khan on twitter .

As a producer too he made successful commercial hits like Oscar nominated period drama genre film “Lagaan” and “ Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na “. He also produced non-commercial hits like “ Peepli Live ” and “ Dhobi Ghaat “. Aamir said that after spending over three decades in the Hindi film industry his prospect as an actor has broadened. He is also overjoyed to see female filmmakers making their mark in the male dominated industry by giving out best results. Aamir Khan asserted that he have worked with Kiran Rao in Dhobi Ghat, with Anusha Rizvi in Peepli Live and now the actor is doing Reema Kagti’s new project. The actor had made some promises to himself on his birthday last year and said that he has achieved some of them. The superstar have learned to speak Marathi to some extent, have started swimming but haven’t learnt to cook till now. And talking about spending more time with his mother, she has started living on the top floor where the actor stays, and he has also signed Yash Raj Films’ Dhoom 3 where he’ll be donning a negative character.
Ashita's addicted to SRK's movies
Ashita Dhawan is a die-hard Shah Rukh Khan fan and everyone on the sets of Raakesh Paswan's Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo on Imagine TV, is aware of her love for the Badshah Khan. She is addicted to SRK 's movies and can watch them time and again. And guess what her prized possession is? An old picture of her with the superstar clicked a few years ago. "I love everything about him. I love every movie of his and I have seen all of them. In fact I even like to watch Guddu and Dil Aashana Hai, and when someone sees me watching it, they are shocked! My all-time favourite of course is DDLJ, which I have seen more than 50 times. So are also Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Chak De! India, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham." And if you've not had enough of this, there's more. She knows all his dialogues by heart. "My husband always taunts me that go on, I will mute the TV and hear the dialogues from you whenever there is an old SRK film playing," laughs Ashita. This is one die-hard fan , we must say. Thanks- TOI o

I don't know if Shakira is dancing for KKR: SRK
If the morning papers were to be believed, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was going to rope in international pop diva Shakira for a promotional music video for his Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). But King Khan says he is quite clueless about it."We have a team of people working around the marketing for KKR. But I really don' t know if Shakira is going to dance for KKR. It is wonderful if she is going to... but I really don't know yet," Shah Rukh said at a press conference here on Monday. The actor was here to launch Nokia's latest phone smart phone E7. He said Nokia, which is one of the main partners for KKR, too had no idea about any such development. The promotional song for his cricket team is said to be composed by Salim-Suleiman and sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. But Shah Rukh was quite overwhelmed when he had met Shakira at the FIFA World Cup 2010 along with his family."Gorgeous, gracious and absolutely heartwarming Shakira. (She) was so nice to the kids. We are (her) fans for life," Shah Rukh had posted on his Twitter page, along with a family photograph with Shakira, in July 2010. o
Vishal to maintain balance between content and profit for Two States
Though acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj might have decided to go on a sabbatical, but one thing that will top his mind will be the expectations from his forthcoming film TWO STATES, which by all means are bound to wear him down. Unlike his previous cinematic sojourns which have given him critical acclaim, the fact that Vishal is not considered to be a money making filmmaker is no good news for his cinema and for his filmmaking style. After all, the fact that a film is finally gauged by its box- office returns is a harsh fact that will keep Vishal company in his break time. His lead star SRK, according to insiders, is keeping a close watch on how Vishal approaches his new subject. According to close sources, 'SRK wants Vishal to direct 2 STATES in a way that balances the content and the profit. Making only critically acclaimed films with no profit does not seem an exciting idea to the superstar who is banking high hopes on Vishal.' So, apparently Vishal might be on break, but it is not a completely relaxing time for him either. The fact that he has to make profitable as well as critically acclaimed films is a concern that will keep him occupied. o

I'm an obsessive actor: Aamir Khan
This may well be one of Aamir Khan's busiest birthdays. He is shooting for Reema Kagti's suspense thriller, bulking up for Aditya Chopra' s Dhoom-3 and getting ready to release Belly. He's also learning to swim, speak Marathi more fluently and planning to enroll in a cooking class. In a quick Q & A, the actor confesses to his current highs. So who is it with you in Dhoom-3 Priyanka Chopra or Deepika Padukone? Dhoom-3 will roll in January 2012. building my physique for it from now on. And why are you assuming that I'm involved in the casting. Aditya Chopra and Vijay Acharya Krishna (Victor) will select the heroine. I have no say in the matter. In an Aamir film, Aamir normally has all the say... Yaar nahin, I'm only an actor on set. I'm an obsessive actor but nothing more. Right now, I'm totally preoccupied with Reema's film. It is a genre that neither I nor anyone else has dabbled in for a long time. It's also got a strong emotional core. And, it has no title? Yeah, if someone gives me a title for Reema's film, it will be the best birthday gift I receive today. Heard you are learning to swim? Yes, in fact I've enrolled for swimming lessons with Mickey Mehta. I have to swim in Reema's film. Actually I'm very excited about this one. After 3- Idiots this is my next film. I was in Dhobi Ghaat, but it was more Kiran's movie. You also have conversations only in Marathi? With my staff I only speak in Marathi. My teacher Suhas Limaye says that it is the best way to polish my language. I have poor language skills; I'm a little slow but I am thoroughly enjoying speaking the language. What's this cooking thing you are getting into? Cooking is also something I want to learn. Honestly, I haven't started. One hears Kiran and you have moved into your mother' s house? Yes, Kiran and I are now sleeping in the bedroom where I spent my childhood. My mother has come to live in my building; Kiran and I have moved upstairs to her home. Our things are still in our home downstairs but we sleep and wake up in mom's house. After pack up, I go straight to mom's house and I am with her till bedtime. What according to you is your biggest achievement in the year gone by? I have given the industry two women directors-Anusha Rizvi (Peepli Live) and Kiran Rao (Dhobi Ghat). I've supported talent that I believe in and I have also shown that art house movies which earlier collected two-three crores can collect as much as 15 crore-plus. Is Delhi Belly also art-house? No. It is a kameena commercial film. Are Shah Rukh, Salman and you still the front-runners? I don't know about being number 1 or 2 ; I'm excited about my success. My fans are happy to see everything that I put out there in the market. That's immensely gratifying. Do you feel any different at 46 than you felt at 40 ? Frankly, age is just a number. Physically, no one can counter age; to me it has never mattered. Goals can be achieved even when you are 90. The audience doesn't ask an actor's age when it comes to seeing his film.
Saale ki shaadi mein SRK baraati
Believe it or not, even with the highlight of a wedding being superstar Shah Rukh Khan, it all started on time. SRK was in the Capital to attend wife Gauri’s first cousin Rustom Tiwari’s wedding to actor Shweta Varma, on Saturday night. Held at Parkland Retreat, Chhattarpur, the wedding saw Gauri, dressed up in an emerald green sari with a heavy gold neckpiece, shaking a leg at the baraat. SRK sat in a BMW, before gracing the shaadi in a black, three-piece suit. About 350 guests attended the ceremony. The star couple occupied a space near the mandap, specially designed for them, sealed by a chain of private bodyguards. “We were asked to make an enclosure near the mandap so that he (SRK) could watch the ceremony away from the public eye,” said a source from the hotel. also posed for photo ops with the bride and groom. However, son Aryan kept to himself. “Not my picture,” said a shy Aryan, when we tried clicking him. He was even miffed with his dad for making him pose for a family photo. SRK later retired to his room to catch the India-South Africa world cup match. Also seen at the wedding were SRK’s friend Sanjay and Shalini Passi, politician Jagdish Tytler and artist Subodh Gupta. SRK and Shakira to team up for KKK video
Bollywood’s obsession with the Latin American pop star Shakira is growing by the day. Earlier the tinsel town divas like Kareena Kapoor in a ‘Golmaal3’song and Katrina Kaif in a saucy track of ‘ Tees Maar Khan’, were seen trying to weave the magic of this ‘ Hips Don’t Lie’ singer in Bollywood style. Now the news is pouring out that the Badshaah of B-Town Shahrukh Khan will be seen with the pop sensation Shakira in a music video for his team Kolkata Knight Riders. The song will be composed by Salim- Sulaiman and sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The video of the song will be shot once Shahrukh wraps up the shooting of Farhan Akhtar film ‘Don 2’. Last year, Shahrukh Khan got an opportunity to meet the Waka Waka singer during the World Cup soccer final in South Africa and has been in awe of the singing star since then. King Khan is truly making a cut in the global arena. He is all set to test new waters in the Hollywood film industry. Reema Kagti’s entire untitled by Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee come alive to confine the old charm of the bungalow when the populace go to sleep. Bollywood’s talented star
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is not only a perfectionist, but he also manages to think out of the box. Among them, the superstar maintains a team of private critics, which consists of his buddies and movie lovers who have a sensitive taste for films. Aamir Khan screens his flicks in private to this group, who then give their frank reviews. The actor doesn’t stop with listening to the opinions and also respects them. Aamir Khan Of late, Aamir’s motive have been global, which can be well witnessed in Peepli Live and Dhobi Ghat, which were made for global viewers. To focus on his target audience, Aamir Khan also planned a market gimmicks of screening these movies in international film festivals before releasing them in Indian theaters. Peepli Live was screened at the Sundance film festival and was also mentioned in the Berlin and Durban film festivals. Dhobi Ghat started to get noticed after it was screened at the Toronto film festival. Aamir Khan is in full mood to grab a place in the 64 th Cannes film festival to be held from the 11 th to 22 nd of May this year. This year’s Cannes will be special to India, as the organizers will be screening a documentary on Indian cinema. When Aamir was questioned as to why he hadn’ t worked with Katrina Kaif , the star said that Katrina is a big star. But no director came forward with a proposal to cast them together in of their projects. The two even sizzled on a magazine cover a year ago where they showcased the look of the legendary screen couple Guru Dutt and Waheeda Rehman. We hope to see both the stars teaming up together.

Shahrukh chooses action over duration for 'Ra. One'
Shahrukh Khan really wants his 'Ra. One' to boast of biggest and perhaps some of the most improbable action ever conceptualised and executed. So passionate is he with the idea of making 'Ra. One' cut across boundaries that he was unwilling to drop anything which had been earlier agreed upon on paper, even if it threatened to increase the duration of the film by 15 minutes. "There was an action sequence that Anubhav Sinha had conceived for 'Ra. One'. While it did sound extremely interesting on paper and was also innovative in appeal as it had been never seen in any film before, whether Bollywood or Hollywood, Anubhav himself started doubting whether filming something like that would be feasible after all," says a source from the film's technical crew. Around this time came a stage in the film's creative process when there was an option to reduce the duration of 'Ra. One' by around 15 minutes. Anubhav was more than happy to let go off this entire sequence and suggested the same to Shahrukh. "While Anubhav felt that this sequence was not just going to be overtly expensive but also nearly impossible to execute, Shahrukh had already made up his mind. He told Anubhav in clear words that he would be mad if he let this opportunity go away from his hands," continues the source, "Shahrukh wanted Anubhav to be further creative in his approach and devise a way to film this sequence effectively." It was also quite apparent by now that Anubhav wasn't really left with much choice but to go back to the drawing board. The sequence was eventually shot and much to Shahrukh's delight, it went as per expectations as well. Though Anubhav chooses to keep mum over the incident and the actual content of the action sequence, he does admit that Shahrukh was particular about the said action sequence. "It truly belongs to 'never seen before' kind. When you would see the film, you would get it by yourself that which sequence had fascinated Shahrukh most and in process given me the toughest time of my life", smiles Anubhav, "Beyond that I don't wish to comment anything."

Shahrukh khan not the reason for Abhinav Kashyap to wall Dabangg 2
The director of Dabangg Abhinav Kashyap is not making Dabangg 2 neither is he working with with Shahrukh Khan in any new film. In the latest news he comes clear and he says that although he has walked out of Dabangg 2 after many speculations he has his own reasons and none of the reasons is Shahrukh Khan. Who thought that success could lead to discomfort, but ask the same to Abhinav and he could tell his story of fame which lead to a lot of discomfort and rumors. It all started when there was a disagreement between Arbaaz, Salman and Abhinav regarding a single scene in Dabangg and it is said that Abhinav took that pretty badly and later this rift created a chasm between the director and the producers. However in the recent official statement Abhinav says that why are people taking a single healthy debate between co workers as something which it is not. Then to make matters more complicated the rumors were flying that SRK wanted to do a film with the famous Dabangg director and for the same the director has met the superstar in his house not telling the other Khans about it. But Abhinav very candidly cleared the air and said that Shahrukh met him once through a common friend in October and there has been no meeting after that. In a question when it was asked if it was appropriate that Abhinav Kashyap told Arbaaz Khan that he won’t be working with them through a SMS to which he said that he knows that the producer is feeling bad about it but Abhinav has to move on reports The Times Of India. The sole reason that Abhinav doesn’t want to work with the Dabangg Brothers is that he fears that if Dabangg 2 does well then he has to make Dabangg 3 and if it doesn’t do well then people would write him off as one movie wonder. He doesn’t want that to happen so he is taking his time and for now basking in the glory of the success of Dabangg.

Aamir keen to catch Bengali film 'Egaro'
It's not just Bollywood , even regional cinema seems to interest Aamir Khan . Why else would he ask for a DVD of a Bengali film to be sent to him on Friday morning? News just in that Mr Perfectionist is keen on watching the recently released " Egaro " (The Eleven), a Bengali film based on the historic IFA Shield victory of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club of Calcutta against East Yorkshire Regiment of England by two goals on July 29 , 1911. If sources are to be believed, a special screening of the film was supposed to happen in Mumbai sometime back and was deferred because Aamir had to leave for the 61 st Berlin International Film Festival, where he was a jury member. And now, busy with Reema Kagti's next, in which he plays a cop, Aamir still hasn't given up on his interest to catch the Bengali film. The story goes back a little, when Aamir had called up Sourav Ganguly expressing the desire to work on the same subject. Meanwhile, work on "Egaro" had already begun and Sourav got Aamir introduced to Anilava Chatterjee, co- producer of the film. Anilava recalls, "Even when Aamir came calling on Sourav during the promotion of "3 Idiots", he admitted to be interested in a sports film and wanted to work on subjects like the golden history of football or hockey. I had sent him all the research work that we had done on IFA Shield victory, back then. Aamir kept in touch and now, wants the DVD of "Egaro" to be sent to him." Aamir, not new to exploring sports on celluloid, had earlier featured in the Ashutosh Gowariker-directed "Lagaan" in 2001. So, when is Aamir's wish going to be fulfilled, one wonders. "Right now, we are busy selling the television rights of the film. The DVD should come out in a month or so. It will be sent to Aamir soon after," says Anilava. Tollywood is sure to be on Eleventh heaven! Aamir Khan More Pics
Bumper year predicted for Badshah Khan Star Talk : Sci-fi action thriller could shatter box- office records
When Shahrukh Khan recently collected his best-actor award for his role in My Name is Khan at the Zee Awards in Singapore, he said he enjoyed winning awards and that if he did not, it simply meant he had to work harder as the awards were a reflection of his contribution to Indian cinema. While the "Badshah" had the one solo release last year, the year predominantly belonged to his arch rival, Salman Khan, who delivered the runaway success Dabangg. However, the tables could turn this year as Shahrukh Khan is expected to deliver two projects that could set trends and possibly even shatter box-office records. His first mega project for this year, scheduled for release in October, is his home production Ra 1 entertainer which he produces. It is directed by Anubhav Sinha, who has thus far made some average flicks such as Tum Bin and Aapko Pehle Kahi Dekha Hai. The movie has Khan playing the role of a superhero with Kareena Kapoor as his leading lady and Arjun Ramphal as his nemesis. Singing sensation Akon and Chinese actor Tom Wu will also feature and international technicians have been assigned to work on the action and stunts for a story that tackles the relationship between a father and his son. Khan's other big release for December this year is Don 2 - was voted the most eagerly awaited Bollywood release of the year. It brings back the team of Khan and Priyanka Chopra, who are to be directed by the ace Farhan Akthar. The original Don , with the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, was a classic, but Akthar has added his own touch and made his new version more slick and stylish while being faithful to the original. The new Don, which was released in 2006 the model-turned-actor Arjun Ramphal. He made a mysterious exit from the sequel and has subsequently been replaced by Kunal Kapoor. Lara Dutta joins the cast and Hrithik Roshan has secured a guest appearance. The first look of the movie, which has been shot in Berlin and Malaysia, has created major excitement across the world as the story traces the Don's escape from prison. Versatile Akthar, a supremely talented performer, should have a memorable and successful year. He will be ever-visible as producer, director and actor. Besides being the force behind the Don movies, Akhtar, who made an acting debut in Rock On, will also produce the Abhishek Bachchan action thriller Game and his sister Zoya's movie on friendship, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, in which he doubles up as one of the lead stars alongside Roshan, Katrina Kaif and Abhay Deol. The other big project that Akthar will produce, will be directed by Reema Katgi of Honeymoon Travels fame and bring together the powerful combination of Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherji. Aamir last worked with Akthar in the trendsetting Dil Chahta Hai. The new, as yet untitled, project will apparently only be released next year cementing speculations that Aamir will rule with this project and Dhoom 3. The other popular star in the Khan brigade is Salman, who will be seen with Asin in Ready and Kareena Kapoor in Bodyguard. Without a crystal ball, my predictions are that Shahrukh Khan and Akthar will be the toast of the Bollywood year and add more awards to their already impressive tally.

Vir Das shoots music video for 'Delhi Belly'
Stand-up comedian and 'Badmaash Company' actor Vir Das has shot a special music-video with choreographer Farah Khan for ' Delhi Belly'. The film is being produced by Aamir Khan and it stars Imran Khan in the lead role. Farah, who left for Chandigarh for a month-long schedule of her husband Shirish Kunder's directorial venture 'Joker', wrapped up the 'Delhi Belly' song and then headed for the cool climate of Chandigarh where her better half shoots in the open fields. "Aamir's song is in Mumbai. Then I leave with my babies and their maids for Chandigarh for a month for the 'Joker' outdoors. I'm looking forward to taking my three babies to Chandigarh in pollution-free outdoors, not to mention the great food," said Farah. As for the song why is it not being shot with Imran? According to a source, "When Aamir decided to do a music video for 'Delhi Belly' he was very clear it would be filmed on Vir Das and not on Imran. When it comes to doing what is right by a project, Aamir is unflappable." 'Delhi Belly' is directed by Abhinay Deo who has also directed Abhishek Bachchan starrer 'Game'.
Shahrukh Khan: Can he capture the Hollywood audience?
Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan is sailing on to Hollywood ocean with the film titled ‘Xtrme City’. The buzz has it that Shahrukh shall be rubbing shoulders with the ‘Titanic’ actor Leonardo DiCaprio in this flick which shall be produced collaboratively by SRK and the eminent Hollywood figurine Martin Scorsese. The question is- Will the King Khan establish his supremacy in the Hollywood circuit? We are all aware of his charisma and powerful acting calibre. But in case he shares the screen with DiCaprio, we may get to see some rivalry and the fans would be split for choice on whom to support. Though, DiCaprio is an established star in the West, SRK has his own share of following all over the globe and with this film he is likely to broaden his fan base as many Holly-lovers who haven’t watched any of his Bolly flick would get to judge him as well. ‘Xtrme City’ is slated to be directed by Paul Schrader who was the screenwriter of acclaimed films like ‘Raging Bull’ and ‘Taxi Driver’. It was during the Berlin Film Festival last year when SRK had chanced upon DiCaprio and Scorsese and they decided of a joint future project .

Shahrukh Khan: Public show their thumbs down to King Khan
Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan are some of the A-list Bollywood celebs who have taken a leap into the word of television and have had a decent impact with their shows which have been hit. However, the same cannot, unfortunately, be said of the King Khan. Shahrukh Khan, who has enthralled the audience with his films over the years, has been rejected by the audience not once but twice on the small screen. His show ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’ has been shown thumbs down by the public and this is the 2 nd time that SRK has licked failure in the telly business . Earlier, his show ‘Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hain, failed to lure the viewers some 3 years back. ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’, that has been shot in Argentina and anchored by Shahrukh Khan, has registered abysmally low TRPs ever since it began airing on 1 st February. Its opening TVR was just 2.6 which is pretty low for a show that is hosted by a major celeb. However, shockingly, the TVR has fallen further over the weeks to a range of 1.3 to 0.8. The show has garnered even lower TRPs than Rakhi Sawant’s ‘ Rakhi Ka Insaaf’. Perhaps, it’s high time that Shahrukh pulls up his socks and does some introspection.
Shahrukh Khan-Sajid Nadiadwala come together for 2 States
The undisputed king of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan and filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala are coming together for the screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's 'Two States'. Though, the movie bosses are yet to make it official, sources say that it is almost confirmed. Sajid Nadiadwala, who is gearing up for five big movies in the next 12 months, including Hrithik Roshan starrer movie, refused to reveal about the projects. He said, "I cannot reveal details on Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan's film right now. We are actively working on them.” However, the proposed SRK starrer film is directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. Meanwhile, Sajid Nadiadwala has signed Akshay Kumar for Housefull 2 , Shahid Kapoor for Heer Ranjha and Salman Khan for Kick .
Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha and Zarine: Protégés of Salman Khan
Actors like Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan have been in the film industry for over 20 years and can be called the veteran stars of Bollywood. Hence, it’s no surprise that they can often be seen helping younger actors out or even launching their careers. Salman, in this regard, can be called the reigning Godfather because he has, of late, been playing the mentor to a slew of actresses. Some of his protégés are: 1 . Katrina Kaif: Katrina, who is the ruling princess of box office, had started off with a very forgettable and obnoxious film called ‘Boom’. But it was owing to her then-boyfriend Salman Khan’s aid that she got a big launch pad in the film ‘Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya’ following which there was no turning back. 2 . Zarine Khan: Zarine, a fatter version of Katrina (and hence the name ‘Fatrina’), was also under the wings of Salman during her debut flick ‘Veer’. However, that film , being a dud, she couldn’t make a career out of it. 3 . Sonakshi Sinha: Sonakshi was clearly not only mentored by Salman but also egged by him to splash into Bollywood. She was a tad inhibitive about getting into films but, on insistence by Salman, got an explosive debut in the film ‘Dabangg’. And now she is bagging in films after films like ‘Race 2’, ‘Joker’ and ‘ Dabangg 2 ’. 4 . Sneha Ullal: Though, she has faded into oblivion, it must be remembered that it was Salman who hunted her down and gave her a launch pad in ‘Lucky’. But, as of now, she is best remembered as the girl who looked like Aishwarya Rai
Shahrukh Khan: Will he make ‘2 States’ a success like Aamir?
Aamir Khan had worked in ‘3 Idiots’ and thanks to his powerful screen presence, he helped make the film a bumper hit. ‘3 Idiots’ was based loosely on the popular novel by Chetan Bhagat titled ‘Five Point Someone.’ And now, it is actor Shahrukh Khan who shall be slipping into the character created by Chetan Bhagat. Film maker Sajid Nadiadwala is making the screen adaptation of Bhagat’s newest novel ‘2 States’. Though, the bosses haven’t released any official confirmatory statement but reports suggest that the deal has been finalised. And the buzz is that he has already roped in Shahrukh Khan to play the lead actor. But he is preferring to stay mum about it. “ I cannot reveal details on Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan’s film right now. We are actively working on them”, Sajid cites. ( Meanwhile, he is also reportedly in talks to do another film with Hrithik Roshan). So, will Shahrukh be able to emulate the success of Aamir? Will the Badshah Khan deliver a spectacular performance in the garbs of a North Indian guy falling for a South Indian? Or will SRK go one step ahead and deliver a bigger hit than Mr. Perfectionist? Only time will decided the final fate…….But certainly, it won’t be a surprise if the King Khan goes on to shatter Aamir’s record

AAMIR HONOURED TO BE ON BERLIN FILM FEST JURY
Aamir Khan is excited to play villain in ” Dhoom 3″. The superstar Wednesday said “Dhoom” was a great franchise to work in even though he initially didn’t think he would fit in. “I have recently signed ‘Dhoom 3′. I liked the script very much. When I had watched ‘Dhoom’, I liked it a lot. I enjoyed the music and the whole attitude. It’s a very fun film. I really liked it. I never thought I would fit in this kind of film,” Aamir told reporters at a press meet here. Victor Acharya, who wrote “Dhoom” and ” Dhoom 2″ is the writer-director of “Dhoom 3″. The earlier installments were directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and starred Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. “When I heard the story from Victor, I really enjoyed it. Very well-written script, very enjoyable. It’s a great franchise and I am happy to be part of it. I am also looking forward to work with Abhishek and Uday,” Aamir said. “It’s true that for the first time I’m doing a negative role, an anti-hero in the mainstream film. I liked my role and all the characters are very well-written. Actually, in between I did another negative role in an offbeat film ’1947 Earth’,” said Aamir. This is the second time Aamir is working with Yash Raj Films after “Fanaa” in 2006. “I have worked with Yash Raj and I have a very comfortable relation with them,” he said. The actor said Victor and producer Aditya Chopra are yet to decide the actress opposite him. While “ Dhoom” starred John Abraham as villain, “Dhoom 2″ saw Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai sizzle too. Victor Acharya’s debut “Tashan” (2008) fared badly at the box office but that didn’t deter Aamir from signing his film. “I think he is a very talented director. One shouldn’t decide a director’s capacity with the fate of any one of his films. I have full faith in him,” Aamir said.

'Sallu, SRK face to face at Aamir's bash'
Aamir Khan has done something that will certainly raise a lot of eyebrows. He is extremely fond of his bhanja, Imran Khan , for whom he is hosting a wedding reception party at Taj Land's End on February 5. The party will be special for how many warring factions will be under one roof though. Aamir has personally invited sibling rivals Mukesh and Anil Ambani. If that is not enough, he has personally invited Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan; everyone knows the equation between these two. A source says, "Aamir has always wanted Salman and Shah Rukh to patch up. If you recall, he spent the entire night shuttling between Mannat (SRK's residence) and Galaxy (Salman's residence) when their fight took place at Katrina Kaif's birthday party two years ago. This could be just the occasion he might go the extra mile and make them warm up to one another." And what if either of them don't attend or come at different timings? "How can that be ascertained now?" said the source. "Of course, most people from the industry have been invited. Add this to Imran and Avantika's close family members and the guest list looks rather impressive." Come to think of it, it's isn't as if Aamir and SRK as the best of buddies. But then again, this is patch-up season...

Quality movie from Midas-touch Aamir and wife Kiran Rao
It was during the making of the Oscar-nominated Lagaan that Aamir Khan's personal life went through some challenges as the married superstar fell in love with Kiran Rao. His sudden decision to divorce his first wife, Reena, and marry Rao in 2003 sent shockwaves through the industry. Despite these setbacks, Khan continued to mesmerise audiences as an actor and producer. His reputation at the box office is flawless with blockbusters such as Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Peepli Live, Taare Zameen Par and 3 Idiots to his credit. Often dubbed the man with the Midas touch, Khan returns as an actor and doubles up as a producer to launch Rao's directorial debut. The movie, which received rave reviews at the Toronto Film Festival, has also had an excellent start in India.
STORY: Set in bustling Mumbai, Dhobi Ghat deals with relationships. First there's Munna (Pratiek Babbar), the dhobi (clothes washer) who starts a friendship with a banker named Shai (Monica Dogra), a smart young wo-man with a passion for photography and art. When Shai has an encounter with an introverted painter named Arun (Aamir Khan), it ends bitterly leaving her with more questions than answers. And, finally, there is Yasmin (Kriti Malhotra), whose life is revealed when Arun moves into a new apartment. Though the interactions between the lead characters are limited, there is a common thread of mystery, ambition and subtle love that draws them together.
DIRECTION: One must salute Rao for making a delicate piece of cinema as she takes a risky path of purposely leaving out the entertainment factor. Obviously being married to a genius like Khan has inspired her to make a creative movie that further showcases the talents of emerging filmmakers in the industry. She cleverly adds the daily experiences of Mumbai life to take the story forward and that works majestically as you are sucked into the city life.
PERFORMANCES: The four lead characters are easy to relate to as they convincingly make you part of their world. While Khan, who had to audition for the part, breezes through his role effortlessly, he plays second fiddle to the charming and simple Babbar, who has to rank as one of the most talented youngsters in the industry. Babbar, son of the late actress Smita Patil, is a revelation from his debut in Jaane Tu Ya Jaana Na. Dogra and Malhotra both make convincing debuts.
WHAT I LIKED: The realistic background of Mumbai, the manner in which the characters are presented and the running time of just under two hours, which works in its favour.
OVERALL: The Aamir Khan brand is associated with quality cinema. If you are expecting typical Bollywood fare, then best you avoid this creative piece of art which, like a beautiful painting, portrays a variety of emotions and is treasured only by those seeking quality cinema.

Bombay High Court Dismisses Case Against SRK’s Bungalow
Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan breathed a huge sigh of relief, as the Bombay High Court has announced the decision in his favor in case linked to his ' dream home ' Mannat. The Bombay High Court not only rejected the PIL lodged by activist Simpreet Singh against SRK, but also imposed Rs 20 ,000 on the petitioner for wasting its time. The activist registered a PIL against the The activist registered a PIL against the actor, alleging that he breached Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) and other regulations by constructing a building , an addition to his bungalow . But, the BHC terminated the case filed by Simpreet, ruling that the requester took this step only for media hype. The court interrogated why the activist objected only to SRK's residence though there are lots of buildings in the identical line. A division bench of Justice P B Majmudar and A Sayed asked, "There are so many buildings in the same line as Shah Rukh's building . Why have you (petitioner) taken an objection against only this building ? Simply because he is a film star?" As per the case filed, the place where the building stands was reserved for an art gallery. But, the state administration updated the BHC that the reservation was called off in the year 2000. The actor bought the land in the year 2003 and started construction in the year 2006. "Prima facie it seems to be a publicity petition . If the court entertains such PILs then it would send a wrong signal . We have so many other PILs pertaining to poor people's causes to hear," Justice Majmudar remarked.

Berlin hosts Khan after Khan
Indian cinema fans in Europe are basking in the company of Khan after Khan and they can't believe their luck. First, it was Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan who spent three months in Berlin and now Aamir Khan arrives here early next month . Aamir will be here as a member of the international jury of the 61 st Berlinale that opens Feb 10. "It's not that we are in the habit of collecting Khans. But we greatly admire the work of both Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan and are totally excited that Aamir will be with us this year," Dorothee Wenner, Berlinale's special representative for Indian cinema, told IANS. Wenner says the festival has admired Aamir as a producer and actor for many years and has been trying to get him to participate in the Berlinale for a long time. "Of course, it is not enough to want Aamir in our midst. It is about schedules and whether he is free from work to be part of the Berlinale. The logistics were always a problem. Aamir's work schedule did not allow him to be part of the Berlinale earlier. We are very happy that he is with us this year," Wenner said. Festival director Dieter Kosslick saw Aamir's " Peepli Live" at the last Berlinale and liked the film so much that Wenner was asked to work overtime to make sure that Aamir participated in the event this year. "I think it is great that such a versatile filmmaker is on the Berlinale jury. He knows every aspect of filmmaking, from acting, to directing and, of course, producing. I hope he will stay in that last role in the coming years because it means we can look forward to more unusual and surprising Hindi films. Also, if you look at the way he promotes his projects, I would want him as a producer if I were to make a film," Gerlinde Seitner from the Austrian Film Institute told IANS. It is Wenner who first introduced Shah Rukh to audiences here and now she is very happy to host Aamir. Shah Rukh first participated in the Berlinale with "Om Shanti Om" in 2008. Berliners still recall how Shah Rukh had stopped traffic in the German capital with his charming ways. He was again at the Berlinale in 2010 for the world premiere of his last film "My Name Is Khan" and spent the last three months of the last year filming for Farhan Akhtar's "Don 2 ", which is partly shot in Berlin. Berliners are thrilled that one Khan has barely left the city when Aamir will soon be with them. The Bollywood participation at this year's Berlinale includes the world premiere of "7 Khoon Maaf". It has been selected for screening in the Panorama special section that picks cinema on the basis of innovative narrative styles and unusually critical images of society. Audiences will watch the film in the company of director Vishal Bharadwaj, producer Ronnie Srewvalla and leading lady Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka fans look forward to her return to Berlin after having feasted on her presence just a few months ago when she was in the city shooting for "Don 2 ". Another Indian film is "Gandu" by Kaushik Mukherjee and Om Puri's "West is West" will also be screened. Award winning Shekhar Kapur will bring no film to the festival but he will join a panel for discussions with production designer Alex Mcdowell and others on "Play as Process: World building and New Ways to Imagine". Berlinale is one of the most prestigious film festivals and the international jury led this year by Italian actress Isabella Rossellini is the last word on which lucky film director gets to take home the Golden and Silver Bears at the end of the 11- day gala which concludes Feb 20. The other members on the international jury along with Aamir are producer Jan Chapman, actress Nina Hoss, director Guy Maddin , costume designer Sandy Powell and Iranian director Jafar Panahi.
Aamir picks Ranbir over Imran
Aamir Khan is infamous for his straightforward answers, and this time it was no different. Not one to be diplomatic, Aamir Khan didn't spare even his own nephew. If you thought maamu Aamir's love for nephew Imran has blinded his judgement, think again. At a recent interview, Aamir was asked who was a better actor - Ranbir or Imran. Without hesitation, Amir retorted, "I love Imran, but Ranbir is a better actor." Even though Imran has raked in the moolah with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa and I Hate Luv Storys , his maamu was not much impressed. Talking about I Hate... Aamir tweeted, "Imran, guess you got lucky," to which Imran responded by saying, "It ain't luck mamujaan." Maybe Imran's much-talented maamu wants his bhaanja to get into competitive mode with Ranbir and outperform him in the long run. In the meanwhile, we wonder what Imran will say about his maamu's latest jibe. Keep watching this space.
Shahrukh Khan: King Khan to shake legs with the smiling assassin
Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan shall soon be seen shaking legs with the smiling assassin. Smiling assassin who? Come on, take a guess! That’s right, Madhuri Dixit it is. After all, the diva has a killer smile that has flummoxed thousands of men over the years and Shahrukh is no different. Though we have seen SRK and Madhuri on screen numerous times in films like ‘Devdas’, ‘Dil to Pagal Hai’, ‘Anjaam’, ‘Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam’ and ‘Koyla’, we are greedy enough to wish to see them yet again. .to wish to see them yet again. And the good news is that we would soon be seeing that transpire. All you need to do is switch on your TV and tune in to the Filmfare Awards where the two shall dance together. They will be performing together on some of their popular foot-tapping numbers in the upcoming Filmfare award. Tweeting about it an enthusiastic Madhuri states, “Best of luck to everyone who have tests/ exams!Busy rehearsing for my performance with Shahrukh in Filmfare. Great JDJ episodes too…” Madhuri is, currently, in India as she is sitting on the judge’s chair for the dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’ which is one of those addictive shows that makes you skip your other domestic works. And now with the King Khan and the smiling assassin ready to scorch the stage, there is reason enough to give the kitchen work a miss and watch the Filmfare awards .

I still find all roles hard to do: Aamir
Aamir Khan looks effortlessly comfortable in every character he plays onscreen whether it is the police officer of " Sarfarosh " or the painter in his latest " Dhobi Ghat ". But the actor says he still finds it difficult to get into the skin of a character even after two decades in Bollywood. "I'm yet to find a role (that is) easy, all roles are hard and it's hard to get into the skin of another person. It's hard to understand the mind of another person because you are very much what you are and when you have to become someone else, it's very important to understand what you are becoming and have an ability to slip into that," Aamir told. "So I don't find it that easy, no matter which character I'm playing," Aamir said.
Shahrukh as a professors in KJo's Student Of The Year?
Karan Johar for the first time will not be working with his best friend Bollywood baadshah Shahrukh Khan. Surprised? Well, that is what the rumours suggested after Karan Johar launched the first look of his next film Student Of The Year . But, KJo shuts up the gossip mongers, by declaring that Shahrukh Khan apart from being a co-producer in the film will also be an integral part of the script. The film Student Of The Year , which will mark as the debut film for three news young actors Varun Dhawan, Siddarth Malhotra and Aliya Bhatt ( daughter to Mahesh Bhatt's), will have Shahrukh Khan in a significant role for the plot of the film. Karan Johar is presently working on Shahrukh Khan's character in the film. It is also reported that Shahrukh will play one if the professors in the film. So, will it be like the next Mohabbatein, where in Shahrukh being an integral part of the film acted as a mentor to the three young couple? Or will it be the next Kuch Kuch Hota Hai wherein Shahrukh will play the cool mentor to the new-generation kids. Who Knows what KJO is planning for his friend SRK. We are happy that Shahrukh ones again will be an eye-treat to his fans with his romantic Kuch Kuch Hota or Mohabbatein attitude.

BOMBAY VELVET, AAMIR’S NEXT BIGGIE WILL BE BASED IN ’60S
Recall the Anurag Kashyap and Danny Boyle film Bombay Velvet? The project, which stars Aamir Khan, had created a lot of buzz when the first rumours started floating about and is being touted as one of the biggest East-West collaborations. Sources said, “Bombay Velvet is a grand project. The cost of the sets alone of Bombay Velvet is going to cost Rs. 15 to 17 crores because it’s a period film.” On further probing, the source said, “Bombay Velvet is set in the era of 1960 ′s and Danny Boyle wants to make sure that the era re- created should be for real, just like all Hollywood films showcase it and it will take almost a year’s worth of preparations. At the moment, Danny is busy with his success of 127 Hours and will look into the film once he is over with the Oscars.” We also hear that the Twilight Players are also a part of Bombay Velvet. Yes, the trio who gave us an unforgettable performance with their popping and locking dance steps in Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D will be seen together once again. “Yes, the Twilight Players who danced to ‘ Pardesi’ in Dev D are confirmed as a part of Bombay Velvet as of now. Whether they will be acting this time, only Anurag Kashyap will be able to tell,” says the source. Bombay Velvet will surely be the biggest collaboration of Hollywood and Bollywood. But whether Aamir Khan’s banner will back the project is a question that remains unanswered.
Shahrukh bonds with Salman’s brother By: Bollywood Mantra Staff on 25 th January
Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan are strong rivals but King Khan shares a great rapport with Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan . At the recently held Filmfare nominations bash, Arbaaz Khan and Shahrukh Khan were seen hugging and greeting Arbaaz Khan. Arbaaz hugged SRK back. Moreover, Arbaaz is in upbeat mood these days for 'Dabnagg' success. After SRK, Arbaaz moved to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and greeted her and both exchanged pleasantries. Salman might be rivals with some in the industry but his family maintains friendship and good relationship with those he shares cold vibes. Salman is not in good terms with Shahrukh, Ash, Vivek, Hrithik and many others but his family parties with them and share a strong bond.
I CAN’T LIKE SWITCH OFF LIKE KIRAN: AAMIR KHAN
After spending several sleepless nights over the past few months — awaiting the release of her directorial debut that also stars hubby and Bollywood star Aamir Khan, apart from a host of newcomers — one would expect Kiran Rao and Aamir to finally take it easy. And basking in the sweet appreciation coming her way, Kiran does admit that she’ll be “ switching off completely” for a few days now. But not Aamir. “I don’t know why, but I can never do that. I’m very restless! I really can’t sit without my mind working on the next thing already. The urge to catch the train of thoughts keeps me racing,” says the actor. But he does reveal that wife Kiran’s presence in his life has helped him reign them better. Restless he may be, but the couple’s glad that they can finally catch up on their sleep! “ Forget sleeping together, we hadn’t been able to sleep at all the past few months,” Aamir jokes. “Yes, it’s finally good to catch up on that,” adds Kiran. Apart from the film, what was keeping the couple busy were the preparations for the wedding in the family — Imran Khan’s with Avantika. “It was very hectic, but also fun!” they say in unison. The chemistry between the two is undeniable. Point that out and Aamir says, “If she would have agreed to play the role (that eventually was done by Kriti Malhotra), I would have added the clause that there will be a romantic angle between the two,” jokes Aamir, even as Kiran reaches out to pinch his cheeks in a rare display of affection, making him blush, but not out of embarrassment. On a serious note he adds, “I don’t think there could’ve been a better director for this film. She’s got a strong grip on her story- telling skills, that’s a rarity here.” Aamir’s now already on to his next project and Kiran says that she will start working on her next very soon. “I’m not yet sure what it will be as of now,” she says. However what she’s very clear is the fact that she will not work for any other banner, but her own. “I don’t see the need to go anywhere else or direct for some other production house,” she says. “Aamir — as a producer — has pampered me silly. He’s a dream on screen and off it. I don’t think I’d want to settle for anything else but this,” she smiles at him.
Gauri angry with Shahrukh
These days Gauri Khan is not talking nicely to her superstar husband, Shahrukh Khan . She complains that Shahrukh is taking too much stress these days and not at all taking care of his health. He neglects his health and not having proper sleep. He has been traveling a lot these days and hardly takes rest. “I know that I am traveling too much these days, I am shuttling between time zones and continents. I do lose track of time once in a while, but I don’t ever get sick because of jet- lag. Everybody complains of sleep issues due to excessive travel, but I’ve yet to experience that,” says SRK. Believe it or not, King Khan sleeps three to fours hours a days and he thinks it is sufficient for him. “Yes, three-four hours of sleep is just enough for me. Besides, it’s me who has chosen this kind of life. So like everything, it will have its share of good and bad things that it brings along. And I couldn’t thank God enough for the kind of life he has given me,” quips Shahrukh But SRK has got a loving and caring family. Whenever, he gets time and sleeps, Gauri switch off the alarm and nobody disturbs or wakes him up until he wakes up himself. Well, Shahrukh take care of your health as we want to see more of you in days to come.
AAMIR’S FILM TO BE SHOT IN RED-LIGHT AREA
Posted by Admin on January 7 th, 2011 | Category: movies The rather unnecessary curiosity over Reema Kagti’s new project comes entirely from Aamir Khan’s presence in the film. And the latest dope on this curiosity-arousing project is that a prominent part of the plot is located in a red-light area. Says a source, “It is a thriller about a cop played by Aamir Khan in search of the truth in the red-light area. Reema Kagti’s film goes into the seedy world of sex workers, pimps, middlemen and madams.” From the two leading ladies Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor, one has apprently been cast as a sex worker. Both Kareena and Rani have played sex workers in the past Kareena in Sudhir Mishra’s Chameli and Rani in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya. Apparently the perfectionist that he is, Aamir wants to shoot at an actual red-light area. However the director Reema Kagti and co- producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are in the process of convincing Aamir that shooting on location in a red-light area could be potentially dangerous for Aamir and his two leading ladies. Known to go all-out in pursuit of authenticity chances are, Aamir’s will would triumph in the matter. The brothels of Kamathipura will never be the same again.

I did not ghost direct RA.1: Shahrukh Khan
In an exclusive interview, the star talks science fiction films, his new blue eyes, the Oscars and Salman.
Shah Rukh Khan wants to clear rumours about just how far he threw his weight around on the sets of his much- vaunted home production, "Ra.One". But quiz him on Salman Khan and he clams up. In an interview for Emirates247. com , he talks about the Oscars, 'Ra.One' and select other subjects. It's being said that you have ghost directed 'Ra. One'? You keep reading news that I am directing the films in which I am working in. No it is not true. I have worked in 70 films till date and I haven't directed any one of them. No one else has directed them too. The director has only directed them. Even ' Ra.One' has been directed by Anubhav Sinha only. I haven't directed it. Anubhav is a very humble man. He does not say anything. He is media shy too and he does no talk about his work. He does not talk much. He is a fantastic director. Insh'allah when this film comes out, people will understand his style of working, his talent and his passion towards his work. 'Ra.One' is billed as the first action thriller from India which is also a science fiction. Why such a subject? Actually we haven't made films like this at all. No one has made science fiction as an action thriller in India at all. It is important that our regular filmmakers should come out with some good films. I have been in films for over 20 years, but we haven't used technology well. Else we will keep making the same kind of films again and again. 'Krrish' and 'Drona' were tow marvellous attempts at making different kind of cinema using technology. Your character has blue eyes in the film. Did you think about your fans who love your eyes? Some of the girls like the blue eyes. Some like hazel and some like blue. This look is for the ones who love the blue eyes. Which directors do you like working with? I feel very fortunate to have some great directors to work with me they have made some marvellous films and I am happy to have gotten to work with them and I am indebted to them. People like Yash Chopra to Adi [Chopra] , Farhan [Akhtar], Karan [Johar], Shimit Amin and even Anubhav Sinha have done a great job and I hope I keep on getting to work with them. After you extended an olive branch, Salman has told us that he does not want to have any kind of a friendship with you? Can we talk about something else, please? 'My Name is Khan' did not make it at the Oscars. How do you feel? Well, we believed a lot in the film. Karan and Shibani Bhatija wrote the film with a lot of passion and that has paid off. You think 'Ra.One' also stands a chance? 'My Name is Khan' was clearly designed as an international film and it has an international appeal. That is why Fox Star was interested in it. 'Ra. One' is more of an Indian subject. I think will be happy if we like it in India and celebrate the film.

Lovers do not sleep: Shahrukh Khan
Back in Mumbai after a hectic travel schedule, actor Shah Rukh Khan says that he has never experienced jet-lag in his life. The only effect that the months of incessant travelling has on him is that he, sometimes, loses track of time. “I know that I am traveling too much these days, I am shuttling between time zones and continents. I do lose track of time once in a while, but I don’t ever get sick because of jet- lag. Everybody complains of sleep issues due to excessive travel, but I’ve yet to experience that,” says Shah Rukh. However, there’s one person who constantly worries about the superstar not catching enough sleep and that’s his wife, Gauri. “I sleep for three hours a day generally. I can see everybody in deep sleep around me even when I am on flight. When I was travelling to Singapore, everybody would catch up with a litle nap but I just couldn’t. I was wide awake. Gauri is sometimes concerned about this and keeps telling me that I should slow down a bit, and catch up on my sleep. But like all husbands, I have only one answer for her — ‘Lovers, too, don’t sleep’,” he laughs adding, “I love my work and what I am doing! ” But then like all wives, Gauri has come up with a way to ensure that her husband does manage to get some sleep when he’s at home. “When I’m at home, nobody wakes me up. They switch off the alarms and don’t wake me up till I am up myself. So once in a while I do get to catch up on sleep, thanks to her,” says Shah Rukh. But is three hours of sleep enough for him? The actor replies in the affirmative. “Yes, three -four hours of sleep is just enough for me. Besides, it’s me who has chosen this kind of life. So like everything, it will have its share of good and bad things that it brings along. And I couldn’t thank God enough for the kind of life he has given me,” he adds. Dhobi Ghat's movie Review
A still from Dhobi Ghat Film : Dhobi Ghat Director : Kiran Rao Cast : Prateik, Monica Dogra, Kriti Malhotra and Aamir Khan Rating : **** Dhobi Ghat , like all Aamir Khan films, comes with a certain amount of marketing baggage attached to it. This time, Khan wants us to believe the film isn’t for ‘everyone’, but for those who enjoy world cinema, or arthouse cinema. To an extent, Khan may have a point. Dhobi Ghat isn’t your typical Hindi film. But then, lately we have been watching supposedly ‘ different’ films being churned out by our filmmakers, every now and then. Think LSD, or Udaan . I don’t know if Dhobi Ghat is ‘arthouse’ or ‘ non-mainstream’ or ‘world’ cinema. What I can tell you is this – it’s a damn good movie. Kiran Rao makes an assured debut as filmmaker and narrates a sensitive story bereft of hyperbole and drama. The plot isn’t of prime importance, the characters are. And Rao fleshes each of them out with astute understanding and makes them come alive in a way that you’re drawn to them, slowly but surely. Long after you’ve watched Dhobi Ghat, you’ll remember little traits of each character – Arun’s complete lack of ability to fit in a world he doesn’t understand, or doesn’t care to understand; Yasmin’s contagious enthusiasm at wanting to communicate with a loved one, and her loneliness; Shai’s meaningless obsession with a man who may never reciprocate her love, and her eagerness to explore a new city; and Munna’s aspirations, coupled with an innocence that’s endearing. Rao uses her actors – they are puppets in her show – to draw you in and experience all their myriad emotions. So you can’t but laugh at Munna’s insistence to get his photoshoot – he’s a dhobi aspiring to be a filmstar, and idolises Salman Khan – done in a studio, instead of getting an outdoor shoot done. Or feel sorry for Arun when he finds out the truth about Yasmin, the only person he’s emotionally involved with, even though their mode of communication isn’t exactly normal. These are flawed people, but they are real too. And the drama in the plot arises from their interactions with each other. But it’s subtle, like everyday life. Yet, in the 95 minutes that it plays – uninterrupted – Dhobi Ghat makes an impact. In the end, the film leaves you slightly moved, mildly entertained, and surely satiated as an audience who wants to be told an interesting story. Every member of Rao’s team deserves credit – art, cinematography, editing etc. You can’t imagine the film without the lilting background score by Gustavo Santolalla and be assured that the tune’s going to be stuck in your head for a long time after. Prateik, in his second film since Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and first in a prominent role, fits the bill perfectly. It remains to be seen how the actor will perform in more complex roles in future, but for someone so new, he manages to impress with another seemingly natural performance. The question, though, is – was Aamir Khan, with that little bit of grey in his hair, really required to be cast in the role of Arun? Aamir puts in a great performance, no doubt, and brings in years of experience to play a complex role with aplomb, but in a film where everything else seems so raw – and therein lies its beauty – you wonder how things would have been without the star’s presence. Dhobi Ghat , though, belongs to the women. Both the female actors – Monica Dogra as Shai, the investment banker with a heart of a hippie, and Kriti Malhotra as Yasmin, are refreshingly real and blend in their screen personas effortlessly. The casting director truly deserves a pat on the back for bringing them on board. Then there’s your ‘fifth character’ – Mumbai ( another marketing pitch?). And it’s beautiful through the eyes of the migrants – the film’s characters, and the director herself – with the melancholy intact. Watch Dhobi Ghat without expectations, or preconceived notions. Let the film take over for an hour and a half of your life. Debutant director Kiran Rao’s done a pretty good job of it. Gallery Video
