Actors like Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan have been in the film industry for over 20 years and can be called the veteran stars of Bollywood. Hence, it’s no surprise that they can often be seen helping younger actors out or even launching their careers. Salman, in this regard, can be called the reigning Godfather because he has, of late, been playing the mentor to a slew of actresses. Some of his protégés are: 1 . Katrina Kaif: Katrina, who is the ruling princess of box office, had started off with a very forgettable and obnoxious film called ‘Boom’. But it was owing to her then-boyfriend Salman Khan’s aid that she got a big launch pad in the film ‘Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya’ following which there was no turning back. 2 . Zarine Khan: Zarine, a fatter version of Katrina (and hence the name ‘Fatrina’), was also under the wings of Salman during her debut flick ‘Veer’. However, that film , being a dud, she couldn’t make a career out of it. 3 . Sonakshi Sinha: Sonakshi was clearly not only mentored by Salman but also egged by him to splash into Bollywood. She was a tad inhibitive about getting into films but, on insistence by Salman, got an explosive debut in the film ‘Dabangg’. And now she is bagging in films after films like ‘Race 2’, ‘Joker’ and ‘ Dabangg 2 ’. 4 . Sneha Ullal: Though, she has faded into oblivion, it must be remembered that it was Salman who hunted her down and gave her a launch pad in ‘Lucky’. But, as of now, she is best remembered as the girl who looked like Aishwarya Rai
